​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Mental Health and Wellness Program includes a mental health education component for students and staff. Center Mental Health Consultants (CMHCs) are required to host one center-wide mental health promotion and education event per year that is designed to reach all students. Additionally, CMHCs are required to coordinate with other departments on center to develop integrated mental health promotion and education services for stude​nts and staff. Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness simply means paying attention to the present moment without judgement. Research shows that, with practice, mindfulness has positive impacts on our physical and emotional wellbeing—it helps relax the mind and body. You might practice mindfulness “formally" by developing a sitting meditation practice or you may practice mindfulness in your everyday life simply by bringing your attention to your breath, body sensations, surroundings (e.g., what you see/hear) as you move through your day.
