Students can access over 925,000 ebooks in formats like audio, audio with highlighted text, braille, and large font, and can customize their reading experience to suit their individual learning style.  A Job Corps specific eBook library will be discussed, and ideas will be generated on how to apply for free accounts, access and add to the library, and assign ebooks and resources to students who qualify with print disabilities.
Need Accommodation Solutions:  Ask JAN focus on Learning Disabilities (LD) & Intellectual Disabilities (ID)

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is a free consulting service funded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and a leading source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. JAN has a long-standing relationship with Job Corps, providing information on tools and techniques that help people with disabilities get and keep jobs and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related laws. In this presentation, JAN will assist in identifying accommodations for various functional limitations related to Learning Disabilities and Intellectual Disabilities, and discovering real-life accommodation solutions using the JAN web resources.

Partnerships Partnerships allow center staff to enhance the services and resources provided to students with disabilities and ensure that students will also be provided support and services after Job Corps.  Many centers have developed very effective partnerships as part of their disability program.  This webinar will provide resources that will get you thinking about how to develop and sustain such partnerships for your center.
